About Fariba Abbasi
Hello, and a warm welcome! I know this can be a very challenging time for you or your family. From the comfort of your own home, we can work through the challenges you're facing together. I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from University of North Texas in software engineer, however my passion has always been within the mental health field. After working in the computer industry for several years I decided to go back to school and continue my education. I received my Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Johns Hopkins University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), and a Certified Hypnotherapist by the National Guild of Hypnotists. I Have many years of experience in a variety of clinical settings. I have worked with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, attachment disorder, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic attacks, phobias, bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post traumatic stress disorder(PTSD), addictions and other mental health issues.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I have also directed an Intensive Outpatient Program for clients with a variety of mental health issues. My goal is to help clients achieve balance to live a more complete, fulfilled life. I have extensive experience working with traumatized youth, young adults, and their families. I use several treatment modalities in my practice including, but not limited to, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief therapy (SFBT).
